With all the recent goings on involving the GEMA legislations the days of Berghain could be numbered, so every opportunity to spend time in the Berlin techno mecca should be taken. Especially when there's a stella line up like this and the launch party of the new Panoramabar 04 CD.

Amsterdam

Darko Esser invites two of the UK's brightest techno stars, Tommy Four Seven and Shifted, to join him at Amsterdam's Melkweg club for the latest of his Balans label parties. Doors open at 11pm, full info can be found on the Facebook Event Page

Paris

Tonight the legendary Paris venue, Rex Club, will be filled with the sounds of Technorama as DVS1 and Delta Funktionen join French local DJs Zadig and DJ Jee.

New York

Two weekends ago London was blessed with the incredible live set from Prologue's Voices From The Lake. Tonight it's New York's turn as The Bunker take over Public Assembly for another night of Pure Techno. As well as the VFTL live set, both Donato Dozzy and Neel will be performing DJ sets in the Back Room alongside Bunker resident Spinoza, while the Front Room is headed up by Detroit legend, Omar S.

We Fear Silence pres. Blueprint Records @ Cable (26th May 12)

It seems everytime James Ruskin brings Blueprint Records to London's Cable club, it turns out to be even better than the last, and Saturday's event in conjunction with We Fear Silence looks to be continuing that trend.


Ruskin is joined by three S's in the form of Surgeon, Silent Servant and Sigha. Expect something very special as Surgeon is celebrating 20 years at the very frontline of cutting edge music, Silent Servant will be making what we believe is his first London appearance ever and after a few slots in the backroom, Sigha, makes the move into the main room for the first time.


Room 2 is hosted, as ever, by one of favourite London party throwers, Colony. The residents Tengui and MB & CB are joined by Russell Haswell and they provide the perfect accompaniment to the main room action.

Mix Of The Day: Silent Servant - CLR Podcast 155

It's been a while since we've featured a CLR Podcast, but it was only a matter of time before the series appeared again. Todays mix comes from the Sandwell District camp and is Silent Servant's first appearance on the legendary techno series.

He took some time out from working on a full length album for Hospital Productions, and a remix for Ostgut Ton, to put this two hour mix together. It's a live recording with no post production involved, so pretty much what you'd expect to hear from him with his DJ sets.

Cio D'or - Magnetfluss Remixes [Prologue 023]

A month ago we brought you news of the release of Cio D'or's Magnetfluss EP on Prologue Records, so now it's time to bring you the news of the follow up remix pack involving three of the hottest properties in techno today. Hailing from The US, UK and Germany respectively, Silent Servant, Shifted and Milton Bradley have been behind some of the best music to be released in the last 12 months. Silent Servant and Milton Bradley are no strangers to Prologue. Silent Servant remixed Claudio PRC's 'Clear Depths' EP, and Milton Bradley put out his own 'The Unheard Voice From Outer Space' EP as well as remixing Cio D'Or's last Prologue release 'Die Faser'.

The EP begins with Silent Servants remix of 'Wasserkraft'. The ghostly aura breathes repeatedly in and out over the top solid 4/4 for an emotional journey. For 'Magnetkreis', new to Prologue, Shifted breaks up the kicks and provides an atmospheric soundscape. Finally Milton Bradley takes on 'Magnetfluss' and transforms it into a dark, droning piece, full of depth and anticipation. It's tough to pick a favourite, but all 3 will find their place in any set.

Mix Of The Day: Silent Servant Vs DVS1 - LWE Podcast 63

After I mad the trip to Berlin and the legendary Berghain to catch up with Function and Regis at their Sandwell District night, we was totally blown away by Silent Servant. A storming set filled with raw industrial beats to more dubby minimalist numbers made Sunday morning very special and set the tone perfectly for Function to carry on where Silent Servant left off.

On returning back to London I set upon a little mission to find myself some new mixes from him and was delighted when i stumbled across this gem. Little White Earbuds drafted in two of Minneapolis's best techno pioneers. Silent Servant, or Juan Mendez as he's known by his mum, teamed up with Ben Klock's latest find, DVS1. Zak Khutoretsky has been filling the Minneapolis scene with the finest underground techno for many a year. After Klock spotted his amazing live show at an event, it wasn't long before Zak's debut release appeared on his Klockworks label. Since them he's gone on from strength to strength and his name is spreading far and wide.

Sandwell District to release debut album 'Feed-Forward'

Sandwell District have announced details for their first artist album, Feed-Forward, slated for release this month.

As a label and as an artist collective, Sandwell District have become a favorite among techno connoisseurs over the past few years, both for their epic DJ sets and purist-leaning 12-inches. Feed-Forward features production work from all three of the outfit's core artists: Dave Sumner, AKA Function, Karl O'Conner, AKA Regis and Juan Mendez, AKA Silent Servant, with contributions from Female. Its nine tracks follow the same blueprint as much of the group's work to date, melding steely techno beats with strings, field recordings and abstract semi-hooks. The album consists entirely of unreleased material and will see release on CD and triple-vinyl. Rather than committing to a specific release date, Sumner says the album will simply "appear" at some point this month.
